New Features Available For Barefoot Clients

Woburn, MA – April 3, 2010–Barefoot Technologies, a leading provider of browser-based reservation and asset management systems in the vacation rental industry, and VacationRentPayment (VRP), the industry’s leading payment processor, have furthered their existing partnership. VacationRentPayment will continue to be a primary Barefoot gateway for handling payments and will now make several new features available to Barefoot clients. The new features include the capability to accept electronic checks, enhanced credit card security, and advanced financial reporting.

An electronic check, or e-Check, is an electronic version of a paper check, which can be used by anyone who has a checking account. Accepting e-Checks eliminates the risk of chargebacks and ensures a receipt of funds, thereby providing improved cash flow and smoother business practices.

With the new VacationRentPayment gateway, Barefoot will no longer host credit card data, instead the information will be stored by VRP under their PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant audit process. The gateway will link back to Barefoot Software with a unique reference ID for each credit card stored on the VRP Gateway, making the storage of the card number secure and compliant.

Advanced financial reporting is another feature that is being offered to Barefoot clients. VacationRentPayment reporting provides a simple user interface and a complete system for easy account reconciliation. The guest level reporting VacationRentPayment provides is unparalleled in its ease of use.
